AHH *cries* That was so sad. I expected it to happen, like car-crash television, but so it was really moving to read how Abel slowly showed himself.

I loved how their relationship was broken down into her side where she saw through his gruff exterior (like someone else I know ;)) and it was nice to see House and Cameron reading... just lovely. <3

I'm so glad you liked it. There were times I almost gave up writing it because it felt like too much ground to cover, but I was too involved in their story not to finish the journal.

It seemed like one as I was writing it. :-p I found it very hard to just stick to the pertinent details relating to what House and Cameron needed to know.

This is STUNNING. Why in the world you are not a professional novelist I'll never figure out. This is just... wow, I'm blown away. Every tiny detail is so perfect. I really felt like I was reading a Victorian era romance novel, dare I say, even an Austen novel. And I've never said that about anything other than a genuine Victorian era romance novel, because Jane is my GIRL and there's just no comparison. So yeah, this chapter, this whole fic, is THAT good.

This part really got to me:
Today was gray and rainy, and Abel woke in a churlish mood. The damp sets into his arm and makes him ache so. I made a warm compress and laid it against his arm, and then I sat beside him and read from a book of poems. In the midst of my reading, he put his hand on the book and pressed it down and said to me, "Why do you love me, Pearl?" His question caught me unawares, and I had to stop and think for a moment. Finally I said, "I love you because you're you."

SO House and Cameron.

I'm blown away by your comment. *blushes* I got very caught up in Pearl and Abel's story, and came very close to writing it in story form, rather than as journal entries, because there were so many details I had to leave out in the journal. But I already had so much of the journal written I figured I should stick with it. Tough decision though; sharp2799 kept me on track, otherwise I might have caved.

I so appreciate your comment, though I'm not sure I'm worthy of such lofty praise. I thank you for it anyway. &hearts

I like the journal style. I would love to read Pearl and Abel's story as a, well, as a story, but I think the journal just fit in better with the rest of this fic. It made a really nice sort of tangent, without being out of place. But hey, if you ever get the urge to write it in story form, I'm happy to read it :)
