Oh I'm so sorry. Did you have a hooker booked for tonight?" she grumped. "Do they charge extra for holidays?"

"Don't worry. I'm sure I'll find an acceptable substitute," he replied with a leer and a wink.

"Dream on," she muttered under her breath.

I love when you have them snark at each other. It's so real and so much fun. And I hope we get more soon!

I'm going to finish it tonight, but since it was getting long, I thought I'd break it up into parts. So the wait shouldn't be too long.

Thanks. &hearts

Ooo I like it so far ;)

Technically last night was the deadline for New Year's Eve fics but I was sick today and didn't come up with a new prompt hehe. It's all good though. I can't wait for the rest of this story ;)

Heheh it is here too. It's all good. Post away. I still haven't thought of what I'm gonna do for this week's prompt anyway.

Ooooh, clever idea! I can't wait to see where this plot bunny takes us!

This was my favorite bit:
In his beanie and his charcoal pea coat, he looked as if he belonged to the sea, a weathered captain from a distant era. She watched, momentarily distracted from her nerves by the thought of him in another time, perhaps coming home to his one true love after months at sea. It was easy to picture him, seasoned and cynical, softening only when in her presence.

I'm pretty much head over heels in love with your writing style.

Aw thank you. You always leave such nice comments. It's way late here, but I can't stop writing this. It's a different plot from what I've ever written and I'm completely caught up in it. I'll post the next part tomorrow.

Mol picked my favorite bit, too. I also loved your reference to Horatio Hornblower, Kelly. House has taken on a little bit of an old time movie star quality in this fic. I keep picturing him channeling Spencer Tracy. It works for me!

Thanks. It was my idea for the icon, though I didn't make it. It's definitely going to get a workout for this story. :-p
