John wandered in, looking more than a little ragged around the edges. He was giving himself extra points for being in uniform.

"Hey, Teyla, what're you doing in here.." Whoops, was he maybe... an hour or two late? No big.

Teyla turned towards the hungover Colonel, still perusing a report someone had handed her several moments before. She looked up with a sympathetic smile.

"I thought it would be best if someone with some modicum of authority be on duty. Just in case," she replied kindly. "You look...well."

It was a tiny lie, but one that she supposed he needed to hear to reassure him that the impending implosion of his brain wouldn't occur simply by attempting to be human.

He laughed, almost immediately regretting it.

"I don't believe there were any lives saved in my taking up this duty," she replied with a tiny grin at his discomfort. "But you're welcome."

She raised a brow, deciding that a little teasing was in order, and added, "I hope you didn't mix any of the Ruus wine with your Earth-made beverages?"
