I think the team is still using the Cantera policy, just that we're buying back players we don't need or get players from other teams in hopes to fill a role in the team, as backups so to speak.

San Jose is a good centreback but Ekiza was the biggest surprise of the year: mature, clean (ONE yellow card for a defender in a season!), levelheaded, good technique... it was more Borja's virtues than Mikel's deficiencies that sent him to the bench.

The team should have bid for Monreal last year, Aurenetxe is not ready yet to be a starter left back and we need someone strong enough out of that wing, which is our weaker one.

All in all, I think Macua had been a good president and I will vote for him :)

I think it's quite disappointing that we had to buy 8 players we don't/didn't really need (Aitor Ocio, Cuéllar, Muñoz, Del Horno, Balenziaga, del Olmo, Vélez, Díaz de Cerio). I'm sure that if the management had taken players from the cantera instead, they couldn't have done worse than those we paid money for. Castillo is getting some minutes at least, and we obviously don't have a good enough leftback in the cantera (well, at least while Aurtenetxe was injured ( ... )
