It is a simple concept for anyone except Ed. He just didn't seem to be able to understand that getting soaked in the rain and then sleeping with his window open on a windy night like last night would make him sick. Even though Alphonse had tried hard to get it through his thick skull, that it was a bad idea to do it especially when he was on the brink of being really sick.
The blond had treated like nothing but a minor cold, when he already had a high fever, a horrible cough, and had a stuffy nose. Yet Al couldn't do anything to keep him in bed when they heard some rumors of the Philosopher's stone out in some town that was barely on the edge of bankruptcy. The Elric brothers had visited the town and left with no legendary stone once again, but they had left the town with a reasonable amount of money to where they could start getting back on their feet. (Even though they knew the colonel would be furious about it.)
But now Ed was asleep in bed wearing nothing but his tank top and boxers, because the fever made him feel too hot wearing anything else. Roy had decided to visit him in his dorm room to see if Al knew whether or not he would be better soon, but when he arrived he found Al was gone (to get some medicine apparently) and had trusted Edward would stay asleep when he was gone.
The boy was flushed and having an obvious nightmare as he jerked in his sleep, and let out an elicit moan through slightly parted lips. Roy went to Ed and gave him a small kiss before leaving as if he had just finished important business as Alphonse walked in.
"Colonel Mustang, do you need to speak with Ed?" Al asked as he set a bottle of what looked like tree sap on the table. "I can wake him up really quick if you want."
"No thank you, I'll wait until he's better to tell him about the new lead. Knowing him, he'd only put himself in more danger by not even considering the fact that he's ill and try to head out as soon as he can." Roy opened the door, "when he is well, remind him that he owes me a report from your last trip."
Without another word, the colonel left while hoping the whole time he wouldn't get sick from kissing his contagious lover.
