Isabel has been teasing me with the promise of these two for days - DAYS! - and I may have squealed a little when this materialized at the top of my flist like an early birthday present.
I loved the lived-in feeling of their relationship, how settled and lazy and easy (or...easy-ish) if feels - you everything you need to about the two of them just from their tone and interactions. I also really like the use of the teensy apartment as a sort of contrasting dual metaphor of both intimacy and the over-arching theme of living-in-each-other's-pockets that goes along with the spy game. (Also, I am imagining climbing all the way up to Sacre Coeur for lunch and - well, clearly Cold War spies and the ladies who love them are made of sterner stuff than I.)
And finally: FRANCOIS IN HORN-RIMMED GLASSES. I mean, I know it wasn't specifically stated that they were horn-rimmed, but I figure if I'm going to let my imagination run away with me, I might as well be self-serving about it - FRANCOIS IN HORN-RIMMED GLASSES!
