Go for it. It's also posted on my DW, ironically enough. :P It's just a few easily findable links and a few words of caution - nothing that a reasonably curious person couldn't have already dug up themselves, and I don't mean it maliciously. I am just really not happy with the sparklerainbow tone of conversation about DW lately.

Many of them, yes - Dw currently doesn't have to deal with either advertisers or with DDOS attacks from the Russian government, both of which have added stress to LJ in recent years. On the other hand Dw is probably going to be a more concentrated hotbed of wank, and the person at the helm...has a history or several. Yeah.

what this needs is an AU where Dreamwidth is Outer Heaven and synecdochic is BB. <---facts

I moved there a couple of years ago, not from Livejournal but from Deadjournal - yes, it still exists, and was a really cosy place for personal blogging for many many years so I still mirror all my DW posts there, and if synecdochic either goes creepermode or I get my ass kicked for whatever reason, I will be right back to using it as a bloghome. Maintainer attitude is definitely not the reason I'm on Dreamwidth - but, like I said, there is history.

And hey, on the one hand, synecdochic has thus far been a reliable & personable (twee emails aside) maintainer of DW, on the other hand she used to be in charge of the trainwreck that was LJ_Abuse, so who knows what may be in store for us! I think that feature of the DW gender field is very welcome, yes.
