Because I didn't have enough of those already. The Middleman, I love you. The character, I mean, not the show, though I do also love the show. And as embodied by Matt Keesler, 'cause damn. I love Wendy, too, and Ida, and Noser, and Tyler (played by Brendan Hines, an actor whom I never expected to see in anything as well as a musician whose ( Read more... )

Brendan Hines is one of my new crushes. Eli (his character on "Lie To Me") is frequently annoying, but I find myself forgiving him over and over because Brendan is so appealing. I'm a bit ashamed to own that I downloaded his album from iTunes without even listening to snips of all the songs first, and haven't regretted it yet. :)

(...and now I'm imagining a crossover fic where Eli and Topher from 'Dollhouse' are roommates, before Topher winds up in the Dollhouse, and they've been roommates for years and years because no one else can put up with either of them.)

Oh, and, Matt Keeslar is made of yum. So yes, perhaps I should check out this show you mention.

Heh, yeah, adorable actors can totally make that work... kind of like in real life, come to think of it. What's his stuff like, the music?

(Dollhouse has not captured me yet. I feel wary of it, though I know it gets better eventually, so that makes it more likely that I'm going to give it a shot.)

! What else has he been in in which he is yum? Because this is the first thing I've seen him in and I kind of really, really, really, really adore him.

You should totally watch this show, it strikes me as right up your alley. If these characters were, say, 12, it would have the feel of a fantastically fun and well-done kids' book.

His music's kind of folky country singer-songwriter stuff. The melodies are nothing special, and the lyrics range from doggerel to, um, kind of creepy. ("I see you and I get ideas: your boyfriend should go outside/And I'll stay here, and you stay here too, and we can make believe that he died...")
The singing voice isn't as deep and gravelly as I'd hoped from his speaking voice, but it's a bit of all right. :)

Matt Keeslar achieved 'yum' status when he showed up in SciFi's remake of the Dune miniseries (as Feyd-Rautha, played in the original movie by Sting in orange hair dye, a terrifying blue plastic Speedo and nothing else. Matt keeps more of his clothes on and is ten thousand times hotter.) However, my favorite Matt-drooling opportunity is the movie Rose Red, which is kind of sort of written by Stephen King (it's complicated). He gets to, you know, act and stuff, instead of just standing there being hot (although he really, really is).

re: Brendan Hines: well, fair enough... I do like kind of creepy, sometimes. :)

Ooooooh, thanks, I will definitely check out Rose Red. I did see the Dune miniseries but I remember basically nothing about it other than finding it not bad.

I have to say, more and more I think you really must see The Middleman. He is so hot in it, and possibly even more adorable.
