It is 3:30 am here in California and I am trying to decide what task to work on tonight.

1. polyfandomrecs Top Ten challenge reclist, full of bandom non-monogamy fics. Still a lot of work and reading and writing to be done for this, but I am very excited about it. Process is much like how I spend days poring over my music collection to make the perfect mix. ( Read more... )

1. I actually picked the word "non-monogamy" because to me it's the broadest possible word for what I was going for, just anything besides straight monogamy (well, or cheating, because that's usually still within an monogamous context so it doesn't count as non-monogamy). So what you're describing -- characters in a main relationship but not expected to be monogamous in it, basically an open relationship sort of thing from the sound of it -- is definitely one of the types that are included, but it's just one of several. The vague categories in my head: casual sex (in which characters have the option to casually hook up with other characters in a healthy manner; the one fic I'm pretty sure is going to be in that category is basically a gen fic), open relationship (one main relationship, option of casual sexual relationships outside of that, but there's pretty much only one main relationship), hierarchical polyamory(where people have designated primaries and secondaries and sometimes tertiaries), egalitarian--pairs (where there's no ( ... )

Aha, keep perusing those GK prompts - there are many wonderful ones that demand to be written! If you want to start writing sooner, I have both Evan Wright's book, and Nate Fick's, so can always do fact checking for you. Or betaing or whatever you might need. *enables*
