Lois McMaster Bujold's first volume of her Sharing Knife series is up at HarperCollins.com. It's annoying to not be able to download (and iPod/Stanza and Centro cannot go OM NOM NOM for portability) but until the clue phone rings loud enough, and hey...free reads is free reads.

That's a good book too. Then again, if Lois Bujold wrote the phone book, I'd pick it up and read it, lol.

I'm starting to think she's one of those underappreciated gems that needs to be blogged about.

And boy, a little digging on my part (and maybe a little Fictionwise-Overdrive breakup spin-doctoring) is netting me a crapload of good, free, e-reads. Of course, I'm still funneling money to Fictionwise anyway--they just started this, "Hey we noticed you bought books 1, 2, and 3 in this series--round it out and we'll give you 30% micropay rebate for it." It's hard to resist the siren call and I can feed the family hot dogs this week, right? :D

Oh I hear you there. I have far, far too many books lol. I should probably start collecting e-books just to save space, but there's just something awesome about having the book in your hot little hands that I love (plus, not being tied to a computer screen ( ... )
