Yes, I am babysitting the theatre and its constituent actors today. So I poke the internets.
I saw this video of a
man saving some vertiginously challenged ducklings on the Beeb website and thought, "hey, I've seen this before." Which I had. Because the same bloke did the same thing last year when the ducks were similarly stuck on a ledge.

It's a lazy swipe at science for science's sake, and given the amount of stuff we think we know but actual don't, such as this stuff , I'm all for confirming the obvious to make sure that it does work the way we think it does.

Plus there is whole bunch of stuff we always think we know (broadly speaking of "us" as a people) that gets disproven. I like to know if we are wrong as it gets a little closer to the truth, and being proven right as just as useful.
Although at 3oo,ooo I'm sure it could have been done cheaper and I'm also sure that the same experiment will be carried out again in the future somewhere else, just to confirm these findings are correct of course.

Love the list of common misconceptions. Am considering putting in a proposal to get funding for (dis)proving these. Possibly via the medium of ducks.
