Summary: Myka wakes up after being zapped by HG's mini Tessla. She races after HG and finds her deep inside Warehouse 2.
“What have I done,” HG Wells mumbled to herself as she took one last look at the unconscious woman on the floor. “I’m so sorry darling. I will come back for you.” She took a step towards Myka, but then stopped realizing that if she touched her she would not be able to leave here there. Instead the quickly turned and hurried deeper into Warehouse 2.
Her ears ringing was the first thing Myka noticed as she started to come out of the fuzzy haze caused by the stun gun. HG Well’s stun gun. Helena’s stun gun. Helena! She sat up straight, and instantly regretted it as everything started to spin. She swallowed and counted to ten then slowly opened her eyes again. Pete’s foot over to her left answered her first question. He was still out cold. The larger they are, the harder they fall, she mused for a second before the big realization hit her. Helena was gone. She slowly got up on her feet and nudged Pete with her boot. Nothing. He was breathing, so she was not overly worried. It was not the first time he had been zapped. She glanced over at the spot where she had last seen Helena.
“I hope that you will be able to forgive me,” had been her last words Myka thought sadly as she moved over to where Helena had stood. Her mood instantly perked up when she noticed the footprints in the dust. Glancing back over her shoulder at her partner and assured herself that he was in no imminent danger she started off in the direction of Helena’s footprints.
Myka noticed that the footprints were closer together now as if Helena had slowed down. Then she heard it; the sound of something being moved. She stopped and listened. There it was again, somewhere to her left. She inched closer to the end of the shelf and carefully peeked around the corner. Helena was standing on a box reaching for something on one of the top shelves. She pulled back cursing not having her Tesla with her.
“Helena,” she called. “What the hell are you doing?”
“Myka?” HG’s voice was tense. “You shouldn’t be here.”
“Well I am. I’m going to come around the corner now. Are you going to zap me again?”
HG sighed, gun in hand. “No.”
Myka slowly inched around the corner and peered up at Helena with a mix of worry and anger. “What the hell is going on? Did you orchestrate all this? Did you get Valda killed?”
HG held up a hand to stop the bombardment of questions. “I didn’t do this, but I realize that it looks that way.”
Myka folded her arms. “Well, zapping your colleagues kind of works against you.”
HG hung her head. Myka took a step forward to smooth a stray lock of Helena’s beautiful dark hair away from her face when she realized what she was about to do. She instantly pulled back her hand and folded her arms again. “Well? Don’t you have anything to say?”
Helena jumped down from the crate and walked towards her. Myka backed up. She stopped instantly. “I won’t hurt you darling,” she said softly.
“Well you just did. You zapped me Helena! I thought we had moved beyond that.” The hurt was so clear in Myka’s voice.
HG put the gun and the small box she had been holding on the shelf behind her and held up her hands. “I promise. I only zapped the two of you because I didn’t want you to follow me. I wanted to keep you safe.”
“Keep me safe?” Myka rolled her eyes.
HG moved closer to her again and this time Myka stayed put. When they were inches apart she stopped. “Don’t you know by now how much you mean to me?” she asked and gently cupped Myka’s cheek.
“You have a funny way of showing it,” Myka mumbled.
HG leaned closer and brushed her lips against Myka’s. “I want to be with you so much it hurts,” she whispered.
Myka wrapped her arms around her pulling her close. This mission had been nothing but painful. She needed this, she needed Helena. “Why did you do this Helena? Things finally started to look good again. After last night I thought that there might be a future for us. But now?”
HG gently silenced her with soft fingertips on her lips. She smiled when she felt Myka’s lips kissing them. “You were such a delightful surprise Myka. I wish that I was as confident about the future as you are.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Myka mumbled against the soft fingers that still lingered on her lips.
“Someone is framing me. I have been thinking about what Claudia said before we left; that it is too much of a coincident that those boys would’ve left South America to come here. And what about the money? Not to mention the likelihood of them just stumbling on this place. Someone must have leaked information about Warehouse 2 to them, and paid for all this.” She smiled when she saw the look on Myka’s face. “And no, I didn’t do it. Where would I get all that money from anyway?”
“Maybe you transferred it from the Warehouse account?”
HG raised an eyebrow. “And how would I’ve been able to do that without Claudia finding out instantly? I know that I’m smart, but you better than anyone know how little I know about computers.”
Myka smiled a lopsided smile and nodded. “Yeah. But you could’ve got someone else to do it.”
That rewarded her with another raised eyebrow.
“Alright, let’s just say for a moment that I believe you. Why would anyone do this? Why would anyone frame you at the expense of Mrs. Fredrick’s life? I just don’t get it.”
“I don’t either, not yet. But I need to figure this out or I will get bronzed again.” She pulled Myka closer when she felt her tremble. “Hush now daring, it will be okay.”
“How can you be so sure?” Myka whispered.
HG just smiled at her. “I have to go now. Pete will wake up soon and I need to get out of here before that happens.”
“Let me come with you.”
HG shook her head. “I need to do this alone.”
Myka tightened her grip on her. “I can’t lose you,” she said softly as she buried her hand in HG’s soft hair. Pulling her closer she kissed her with such an intensity HG almost lost her footing. “Oh God!”
Myka pushed her up against the shelves and kissed her way down HG’s neck. She could taste the saltiness of her skin. She moved away long enough to pull HG’s tank top off of her. “You are stunning,” she mumbled.
HG chuckled and pulled her closer for a kiss. Myka’s hands were everywhere, but eventually settled on HG’s butt, barely covered by the tiny shorts. “Hollywood be damned, but I love these shorts on you,” she mumbled. She unbuttoned them with ease and the next moment HG arched against her as she cupped had naked butt cheeks. She kissed the edge of Helena’s bra, pulling at it with her teeth while slowly slipping her hand inside Helena’s underwear to cup her sex.
“Oh God!” HG moaned. “Please…”
Myka smiled as she moved her hand over HG’s sex. Unsuccessful with the bra, she gently nipped at a taught nipple through the soft silk. The feel of her teeth and the wet fabric caused the nipple to harden further. She could feel Helena’s hand in her hair pressing her closer. She slowly pulled away and kneeled by Helena’s feet. In a quick move she yanked both shorts and underwear off of her. She had to taste her.
HG cried out softly as Myka’s lips and tongue found her center. She pulled Myka’s head closer and rested one leg over Myka’s shoulder, opening herself up to Myka. “Oh Myka,” she whispered. “So good. Oh my god, please don’t stop.”
Myka slipped two fingers inside of her and reveled at the softness. HG was so tough and hard on the outside it still surprised her how soft her most intimate place was. Flicking her tongue over her clit she felt Helena starting to shake. She intensified her efforts and a moment later she felt strong muscles contract around her fingers. Helena’s grip on her hair was almost painful, but the soft sounds coming from her made it all worth it. With a last soft kiss she pulled her fingers out of her, feeling Helena shudder. She caught her as Helena’s legs gave out on her and she sank down to the floor. Myka pulled her onto her lap. “It’s okay, I’ve got you,” she mumbled.
HG took a deep breath and opened her eyes. She smiled and pulled Myka closer for a kiss. She had intended for it to be soft, but when she tasted herself on Myka’s lips she felt another tremor go through her body. Finally she pulled away and smiled.
“I love your smile,” Myka confessed with a grin.
HG laughed. “Well you caused it darling. Wow, what a surprise. Pleasant though I must admit.” Her eyes twinkled as she teased Myka. “As lovely as this is, I think I should get dressed. I don’t want Pete to see this.” She saw the instant shadow falling over Myka’s face. “Oh no, don’t you dare. That’s not why.” She grasped Myka’s chin and forced her to meet her eyes. “This is for us. I don’t share. Ever.”
Myka smiled at her words. “I believe that.”
HG kissed her again, but this time it was softer. “I am so sorry darling to have to cut this short, but I really need to go.”
Myka nodded. She reluctantly released Helena, her body still craving her touch. “Where are you going?”
“Paris.” Helena reached for her tank top and pulled it over her head.
Myka frowned. “Paris? Why? And why are you telling me?”
HG smiled. “I’m telling you because I trust you. As to why, this somehow has something to do with my old life, with my daughter. I need to go back to where it all started, the day it ended, when Christina died.”
“I don’t understand.”
HG finished buttoning her shorts and took Myka’s hand. “Walk with me and I’ll explain.”
Myka nodded. “Where are we going anyway?”
“I need to find an artifact.”
Myka gently stopped her with a hand on her chest. “What artifact?”
“The Trident.”
“Why?”
“It’s the most dangerous and sought after artifact in Warehouse 2. I assume that it’s what they were after. I need to keep it safe, or in worst case scenario, use it to negotiate with.”
“So why Paris?” Myka asked again, curious to how Helena would explain all of this.
“My daughter’s death was a life changing event for me. It made me develop my time machine in order to try and go back in time. Which we now know doesn’t work. Anyway, I think someone else used it before we did.”
Myka’s eyes widened. “You think someone used it after you were bronzed, but before we used it a couple of weeks ago?”
“Yes. Even with time, the circuits shouldn’t have been that easily damaged. The machine had been drained for power somehow.” She stopped and listened for a moment. Everything was quiet. “Valda said that the key was the only thing that survived from Warehouse 2, the only thing they managed to save.”
“Just like with Cinderella’s knife!” Myka said excitedly.
“Exactly!” HG smiled. “You are brilliant, you know.”
Myka blushed.
HG kissed her quickly and pulled her along down the aisle. “It should be here somewhere,” she mumbled.
“How do you know?” Myka asked, not sure she wanted to know the answer.
“No sinister reason darling,” she winked at her. “It’s written over there,” she pointed at some hieroglyphs engraved on a small plaque at the end of each aisle. “It says, Greece - sons and daughters of Mount Olympus.”
“Sounds reasonable.”
They stopped in front of a large box. Helena carefully put her hand on top of it. “This is it.”
Myka felt her heart go cold. This really was it. Helena would disappear into to shadows again. Would she ever see her? Alive? She tried to keep from panicking. HG felt the slight tremor and tightness around her fingers and looked up at her. Seeing the pain in Myka’s eyes she pulled her into a comforting hug. “It’s alright darling. We will see each other again.” she hushed.
“It hurts Helena,” Myka whispered.
“I know,” she said softly. She kissed her softly and caressed Myka’s hair. “I’m leaving Egypt tonight, if I can get a flight out of here. Look for a note from me at the Paris National Library. I will leave it for you inside my book the Time Machine. By the time you find me I hope that I know more. In the meantime I need you to go back and find Pete. Try to find out as much as you can on your end. Hopefully we can solve this together.”
“I will be there.”
Hidden in the shadows pale eyes watched. Everything was proceeding as planned. These two was a surprise, but in the end, it would not change anything.
