You know what?

I don't care if it's been over-hyped.

I don't care if parts of the previews might look a little iffy.

I don't care if Ryan Reynolds is playing Hal as a flippant jackass; this is, after all, Hal Frakking Jordan.

Good for you. I personally don't understand why no one else realizes that Star Wars was for six year olds too.

On the other claw, once Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams took over the Batman titles, six-year-old me suddenly found Adam West unwatchable.

And yes, Denny and Neal were a big part of making GL my favorite character, as well.

I agree that the film has been used to sell everything from McDonalds not-quite-food to toilet paper, but what matters is the quality of the film itself. Is "Green Lantern" going to kick ass, or will it be complete and total crap like the last Superman film? I'll just have to wait and find out.
I won't talk about the hideous and impractical costumes worn by the DC characters in their latest incarnations.
