Saw a TV special once about the nature of time, where they began and ended with the scientist talking with Saint Augustine. Who said, roughly, "If you don't ask me what time is, I know, but if you ask, I have no idea." There are a lot of things like that.

Time? Time is very simple. It is a measure of the motion of energy.

How does energy move? Very simple: over time, it transfers from one location or particle to another, typically from greater pressure to lesser, or by riding along a dimensional edge or surface.

How do they relate? That all depends on how you measure them.
