Oh, that really is lovely. You have managed the surreal effect of juxtaposing the happy relaxation of the original with the essay crisis process, which almost makes me think, 'Yes, isn't it pleasant to be writing essays late at night?' . . . okay, you probably don't want commentary on bits of it (bad brain! down! down! sit!), but it deeply delighted me.

The line 'one laptop will I have there' calls up a bizarre image of Scary Ambitious Student with two or more spread around him/her.
