Severus sat on the couch, frowning at the towel. "Our cat is now dragging towels throughout the house? It weighs more than she does!"
He looked around him, then under the couch. "Aha!" he said, scooping up the kitten. He held her up in front of his face and scowled when she tried to paw his nose.

"She might be small, but she does have teeth," Harry reminded him, banishing the towel back to the laundry basket in the bathroom.

"You have toys," Snape told the cat sternly. "How many times are we going to have this conversation. No shoelaces, so shredding robes and no absconding with towels!"

"I don't think she understands you," Harry laughed. "Otherwise, I'm sure she'd listen."

"Like you do?" Snape asked, amused. He set the cat on his lap. She curled in to a contented ball and began to purr.
