It was after dinner, and John was writing a letter to Rodney. He'd been doing this for a while, now, writing letters and tucking them away in a file; it was something Heightmeyer had suggested--they'd done a sort of unofficial Operation Homecoming workshop in Atlantis when they'd finally had a little breathing room, and one night he'd just been so full of things he wished he could say to Rodney, that he'd started writing ( ... )

Lulu was sitting on her balcony when her phone rang inside the apartment. She ran in and picked up her phone. It was John asking her if she knew where Psmith was in a slightly accusatory tone. She didn't, of course. She was trying not to anxiously wait by her phone which was why she was sitting out on the balcony with the computer. That was curious.

Eventually Sheppard came back on the line, saying that neither he nor Psmith's girlfriend had seen him. They agreed to meet at Psmith's house and look for evidence there.

Meanwhile, somewhere else...Psmith found coming out of his second concussion a bit easier than the first had been, most likely because this time he had an idea what it was. He awoke to see nothing but bright white light, like someone was shining a torch at him. He tried to close his eyes but they were already closed. With that realization, the light dimmed significantly. All in his head, then. It certainly felt like everything was in his head; his skull was full to bursting. He tried to get his bearings. Let's start, he thought, by making sure the skull is still attached ( ... )
