Fred walked into the library half anxious, half excited. Ever since being sucked into Pylea, she'd been extra careful in libraries. She was at home, brushing up on her dimensional portal study and she found that she'd been missing her favorite copy of Hyperspace. After looking around, she realized she must have left it in her hasty departure. She looked in the bookstore and couldn't find it, so her search took her to the library. She looked around and found a man stocking books and decided that it was safer to ask than be sucked into another dimensional portal, so she walked over to him.

"Hi, I was wondering if your physics section is still Dewey Decimal number 530. It is in the United States, but I'm not sure if it is in Canada and I was looking for a book that should be in the physics section, if that's the right number," Fred said in a single breath.

Snape's musing were interrupted by a young woman looking for information. His lip quirk into some resembling a smile, the one he was forced to use with the public.

"Physics? Yes, the topic begins with 530," he said, surprised that someone who seemed barely out of her youth would be interested in something like physics.

A bit of the pot calling the kettle black, Severus, his inner voice chided. Merlin, he hated that voice.

"I think you'll find that we have a surprisingly large number of physics books," he informed her, attempting to be polite. "You'll find them at the top of the stairs to your left, starting with, as you said, 530. Were you looking for something in particular?" he asked, hoping she wasn't looking for one of those absurd "Idiot's Guide to..." books. Were that to be the case, she would of course, drop in his estimation. Snape had little time for idiots.

Unless it was Potter, but that was a different category all together.

Fred smiled. She was glad that she'd picked someone who was helpful. So many people who worked in libraries rarely knew a thing about them, as she found out.

"Oh good, it's nice to know that libraries are essentially the same here. Thank you for the directions! And, yes, I was actually looking for a copy of Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Through Parallel Universe, Time Warps, and the Tenth Dimension by Michio Kaku. I left my old copy in Los Angeles and the book store here didn't have a copy. I would rather take it out from the library than order one off the internet, but if it's not here, I might have to brave the internet shopping system, something I'd not really wanted to do. I'm Fred by the way," she rambled.

"Quantum physics and string theory," Snape said. "Impressive," he said, looking speculatively at the girl. Snape had read various books for the mental stimulation that came with theoretical thought.

Oddly enough, it also came in handy when creating spells, which made it one of the few muggle sciences worth spending time on.

"Severus Snape," he said, nodding at Fred. "I have found the internet to often be a colossal waste of time," he added, not at all pleased at the amount of information it contained about himself.

Wilson walked into the library, House in tow. "Look, I'm sure they have it here. Most library video collections have all that crap. Too much of that crap." He looked around, not seeing the videos at first glance. The one time he was in the library, he didn't get a good look at the place. So, he looked at House questioningly, his body language asking where they needed to go.

Did House look like a libraray man? He had no idea where to go. He was more concerned with the non-handicapped facilities. Look at those stairs. Fucking stairs. "You could always ask?"

Wilson nodded and went off in search of a librarian. He went down a few aisles and saw Snape shelving some books.

"Ah, professor Snape?"

Snape looked over his shoulder to see Dr. Wilson calling for him. He shoved the book he was holding on to the shelf and walked over to meet the man.

"Dr. Wilson, I wasn't expecting to see you today. Can I help you?" he asked, giving Wilson a genuine smile.

Fred smiled at her boss as he walked over to the man she'd been talking to and she went up the stairs to where Snape had directed her, finding her book immediately but getting sidetracked by all the other physics books. Fred was in heaven. She ended up going down the stairs carefully with about 7 books that she'd always wanted to read but never really had the chance to as well as some that she'd never heard of before that seemed to be Canadian. She carefully walked back down the stairs, her view impared and checked out her books. She saw that Dr. House was still there, and felt compelled to go say hello. She walked over to him, books in a bag the librarian had, mercifully, given to her.

"Hi, Dr. House, what a funny coincidence running into you here," she said, stopping herself before completely rambling as she knew it wasn't House's favorite thing.
