Fred was walking back from her lunch break from working at the clinic after finding a burrito place with some pretty good tacos. Fred spent a good deal of her lunch time shoveling in tacos, but stopped after five, not wanting to be too full for the walk down Main Street back to Baker. As she was walking she noticed a girl who was young, probably just out of high school, if not still in, gazing at the town theater. Fred checked her watch and saw that she still had time to spare, eating incredibly quickly, and, feeling bold, went up to the girl.

"Hi!" she said. "I'm Fred. You must be new in town."

Sarah's eyes turned from the theater to the woman standing next to her.She gave her a brief look and smiled, then turned her attention back to the theater before her.

"Yes, I am new here, just arrived actually. I'm Sarah, it's nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too!" Fred said, not discouraged by the girl's lack of interest. "Do you like the theater? I'm not sure there'll be broadway plays here, but town plays seem likely."

Fred looked at the girl. She looked a bit young to be out on her own.

At the mention of theater, Sarah brightened up considerably, her expression becoming wistful. "I love theater....my mom's an actress. I've wanted to follow in her footsteps for as long as I can remember."

Sarah also found the idea of living the starving artist stereotype to be intriguing, it would make an excellent chapter in the biography that would surely be written about her once she made it big.
