Thirteen ran into the house, followed by Hawkeye. Snape and Draco started, but House grabbed Snape by the arm. "Wait. Directions, again."

"Oh, no, really. I appreciate the offer, but I should finish my run. And I'm not dressed. Maybe some other time."

"We don't have a dress code. Free food. Go get it."

"More people?" Draco asked incredulously. "Won't your husband mind that you're just picking up random people off the street?"

Severus looked at the stranger, and something in his blood ran cold in recognition. Not of the man, but the vibe he put off. He'd spent most of his adult life around men like him.

It would be worth keeping an eye on him.

"Do you think I care what my husband thinks?"

"The fact that you married him suggests that you care," Draco threw back, sneering at House. Wilson had to crazy to have married him.

"You don't know that. I could've just wanted a green card." And with that, House started up the walkway to the front door.

"Green card?" he mouthed to Sev. House wanted to be a Slytherin? But they didn't carry around cards.

Severus shrugged. "I think it has something to with Muggles and cars." He waved a dismissive hand. "The trick to getting along with House is to return any insult he hurls at you. Where I would hex your mouth shut, he merely seems to enjoy it. It's rather cathartic actually."

"Ok," Draco agreed. He didn't plan on spending much time around House, so it didn't really matter whether he knew how to deal with him or not.

"You mean, he always acts rude and demanding, and gets away with it?"

"I would assume so," Draco replied. "I just met him. Unfortunately." He followed Sev up the path. "Are you coming?" He called at Dexter over his shoulder.

Yes. Yes, I was coming. It seemed James Wilson was not the only person of interest attending the dinner party. I nodded to the blond. Followed him through the door and into the unknown.
