Who: Abe and Wesley What: Meeting to discuss the Ravine When: Early afternoon, Friday Where: Wesley's place Rating: G, presumably Status: Closed and incomplete
The knocks reached Wesley's ears over the sparking of a welding torch in his hand, and, grinning he pushed the safety mask up on his forehead and stood, turning the torch off and setting it on a much abused work bench.
Taking the lift from the lab up to the kitchen entrance, Wes pulled a pair of singed work gloves off and stuck them in a back pocket--he was excited to meet Abe, their conversation stirring memories of all of his conversations with Dairine and Hermione about the nature of technology, magic and their overlap.
Here was someone who'd actually done it, found the link, and used it.
It was for that reason that he opened the door almost a little too enthusiastically, nearly knocking himself in the head.
"Abe, come in, it's good to meet you." Wes said, holding out one hand in greeting and motioning with the other to the kitchen. Nothing about the man's appearance was particularly jarring, not compared to anything he'd seen before.
"Oh!" Abe said as the door finally opened after a few moments. He took note of the enthusiastic man (though he did look more like a boy) and held out a gloved hand to shake. "It's good to meet you as well...Wesley. I've been looking forward to knowing more about this town."
He entered smoothly past the grinning face and took off his hat to get a better look of his surroundings. His head turned up and down, this way and that, at the impressive girth of the mansion. He blinked the moisture to his eyes and the details became sharper.
"You have a lovely place," Abe said. Wasn't that in the social script for this situation? He entered the kitchen. "I hope I didn't interrupt you from anything important." He spied the work gloves and state of his clothes.
"Thanks, it's actually Dok's, but I moved in last year." In an odd way, Wes still looked at the house as belonging more to his partner than it did to him, even with the nature of their relationship and the fact that Wes had pretty much spent some time there almost every day since Dok first bought the place.
"And, you didn't. Actually..." glittering brown eyes shifted to a time display on the microwave. "I probably should take a break and eat something, would you like anything?" Others might be nervous asking a man who looked to be part blue fin tuna what he wanted to eat, but that was one advantage to being from the future--very, very little he encountered in town bothered him.
"Hm," he took a moment to consider if he'd had enough to eat earlier that day. He decided that he had. Though he did have an awfully strong craving for rotten eggs he sincerely doubted that as massive as this house was it came equipped with a storage unit needed for the delicacies.
"No, I'm fine. I wonder if you have anything to drink, though. Perhaps some tea?" Abraham said, settling on something so he wasn't awkwardly watching the young man eat.
"Who is Dok, if you don't mind me asking. Is he a mentor?" Abe asked, head tilting curiously.
