Bod started awake with a little gasp, which prompted a bout of coughing. By the time he finished, he had to think to remember what had awakened him. Looking up, he saw a shadow against the door window. "...someone at the door?" he said groggily, pushing himself up to a sitting position. The room was a little too bright, and he squinted, his head throbbing. 'Better', he was learning, was a far cry from 'well'.

"Neil?" he croaked, and cleared his throat. "Sherlock? Was anyone expecting a visitor?"

Neil quickly set down the book he'd been reading and turned to his coughing boyfriend, who apparently hadn't realized right away that he was sitting in the bed beside him. "Easy, sweetheart, don't hurt yourself." He rubbed his back lightly before turning to look in the general direction of the front door. "I wasn't expecting anyone. Here," He handed Bod his glass of water from the nightstand and took off the glasses he wore to read. "Drink. I'll be right back."

Carefully, so he wouldn't jostle Bod around too much, Neil climbed out of the bed and padded through the living room to the front door. He opened it to find a man standing there, who he was pretty sure he'd seen in town many times but never officially met or spoke with, and a girl. "Hello. Um-- can I help you, Sir?"

Try as he might not to seem nervous about being out in the open with the dragon girl, D peered a little over Neil's shoulder into the sheltering house beyond.

"I...brought tea and pastries for us, but there's plenty for everyone he....isn't exactly expecting me and I didn't want to--Honlon!" The girl had been inching around the side of Neil's leg before carelessly wandering inside. When she turned back, there was a look of silent apology.

'Kanon, of course. Little Miss Curious.'

"I'm terribly sorry..." D bowed in apology, "she hasn't been out very much in the last few..." 'years,' "months."

Obediently, Bod drank the water Neil had given him. Then, setting the glass down on the table, he frowned. Hadn't he fallen asleep on the sofa in the living room? Glancing over, he saw Crypt, in cat form, snoozing in the bedside chair. Well, that answered that ( ... )
