Alba dawdled home, trying to keep the semblance of freedom for as long as possible. It wasn't that what Mr. Baron said didn't make any sense, but she was a twelve year-old girl. Even though she was clever and sensible, she hated decisions being made for her when she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself.

She pouted the whole way home, dragging her feet and crossing her arm. It was childish of her, but she wouldn't admit that aloud. When he asked her if she was followed, she couldn't help but roll her eyes. While she stormed and stomped in her head, Alba was all the while conscious of her surroundings. "Of course not." She hugged Mr. Baron back when he unexpectedly hugged her. Her mom got like that, too. Random hugs when she was worried. "I thought for a minute someone was, but they just lived on the street I was walking past."

She raised an eyebrow. "I won't catch cold just cause it's dark outside." Though Alba thought that Mr. Baron was worried that she might get bitten. Even though Alucard/Dracula said he ( ... )

With a small sigh, Byron closed the door behind him; enclosing himself and Alba in the warm light of the foyer. Opening dirextly to the right a wide receiving room cluttered with plush furniture waiting with the latest attempt at cooking...thankfully, Byron was finding the concept a lot like chemistry, a field he excelled at. On a gleaming silver serving tray rested two plates brimming with hot butternut squash soup, dark bread and a small tray of butter. Not dinner, but a first course ( ... )

Alba frowned and looked at the food. She set her stuff down before going over to the sink to wash her hands. Mr. Baron asked her to sit down, but she finished rinsing away all the soap before taking her seat, feet crossed beneath her in a way that her mom probably would have scolded. As a wave of relief passed through Byron he released Alba's hand, still amazed at exactly how observant the young girl was--honing in on his 'medicine' at the resturant. Under different conditions, Alba would probably have made a top-rate Hunter one day, if trained properly.
