Arthur was not surprised, though he wholly wished he could be. The town had been quiet, quieter than was normal. Merlin had come back from a chat with Moira spouting on about people vanishing and Arthur investigated, starting close to home and he rather regretted doing so now.

It almost would have been better had his father been the one to announce it to an unsuspecting audience at least then Arthur could have felt some of the agitation his father did instead of wallowing, which was what Arthur was doing in the kitchen now.

"Home. I suspect she's gone home."

This gave Uther pause, checking the momentum of his oblivious agitation. It allowed him a moment to stand still and see that the boy seemed to be sitting alone in the kitchen, doing nothing. "Home? What do you mean, home? She isn't here."

"If what the people of the town say is true she's back in Camelot. Home." Arthur grimaced and sipped at his water and wished it was something stronger, but he'd promised he wouldn't and so he was trapped by his own doing.

"What?" Uther frowned, his hand landing heavily on the table as he moved forward to stare more closely at his son. For the most part, he felt a sort of confusion. That Morgana might have been whisked back to Camelot (alone, without the rest of them; without her children) was inconceivable to him, and had never occurred to the king. He thought only that he had misunderstood, or that Arthur had misunderstood, in some way.

Yet something in him knew, was immediately and unarguably certain, that what he had been told was so. "How can she have gone back to Camelot? What people of the town? What have they been saying?"
