It wasn't that he had nothing to do, which was quite true, though the thought made Arthur more than a little disgruntled, it was more the silence in the castle that unnerved him. Moreso because one, Merlin had vanished in a grumpy, gangly huff and two, because if Merlin was acting odd, then he surely wouldn't be the only one in the castle.

The door to the nursery was blessedly open as he neared it, and the lack of crying would have made him uneasy, had the room not been lit as well.

He rapped his knuckles softly on the frame and waited for Morgana to acknowledge him.

"Come in," Morgana called, looking up at the knock. Hopefully it would be someone who bloody well knew who they were. If not, they were leaving. Immediately. Gwydion let out a small cry as Arthur was standing at the door. "If you tell me your name isn't Arthur, you better bloody start running now." Morgana frowned, rocking Gwydion slowly but unable to pick him up just yet since the second she put down Eilonwy, she'd start crying.

Arthur scoffed, entering the room before answering, "You wouldn't give chase. It would mean leaving the babies unattended."

He turned toward the cradle that held Gwydion and muttered soothing nonsense, expression softening, as he hefted the infant out in order to calm him. Arthur shifted his hold until the baby was situated safely in his arms, his head balanced on his arm.

"Where is Father?"

"I'd get the sword. Don't test me." Morgana was really not in the mood to be tested. But then Arthur picked up his godson and he had actually recognized her. "Good question. I'm not sure who Uther is right now, but he's not himself and I'm not having him here while he's not." Her lips were pressed tightly as she looked down at Eilonwy. Her daughter tugged lightly on a strand of Morgana's long hair, so unlike her own fair hair.

Something scratched loudly at the window to the nursery. Through the slightly warped, stained glass it's form was distorted but still bird like.

An owl.

After several more attempts a long talon managed to loosen the window latch and the bird perched there, massive body somewhat hidden in flapping curtains. It hooted softly at Arthur and then turned it's gaze to the stirr infants.
