The most notable thing about Aternaville at the moment was the cold. Dr. Spencer Reid, one of the newest residents of the town, buried his free hand in his pocket, trying to keep warm, as he walked down Main Street, stopping at interesting storefronts to see if anything jumped out at him. He'd already ordered presents for some the team online; a first edition Vonnegut for Emily, a USB charm bracelet for Garcia, and nothing for anyone else. Morgan had joked that he didn't want another book, and he never knew what to get JJ, or Rossi. Hotch was another mystery, as was Jack. If he did end up staying in Canada for the holiday, he would need to get the little boy something special. And Henry. He had to find something for his godson as well.
So he stopped outside of a toy store, peering in the window at the model planes and toy trains and robotic dogs. There had to be something other than books for him to give. (Though, a collection of Dr. Seuss stories might be a good idea for Henry; JJ said he always wanted an extra bedtime story.) The wind picked up a little, whipping his hair into his face, which he tried to tuck back behind his ear. He needed a haircut, badly, but it had been case after case, then Foyet, and then the move. He just hadn't had time or the willpower to spare.
