Who: Spike and Red
What: Relieving some... tension.
When: Late Sunday night/early Monday morning.
Where: Red's apartment
Rating: PG-13. Aside from some harsh language and innuendo, it's tasteful here.
(
While he would never be coined as the brains of an operation, Spike knew enough to recognize when he was being used. )

I've already forgotten the address.
Red stared at those words for a good ten minutes, sucking in her bottom lip as a scowl crossed her features, fine wrinkles forming in the crease between here eyebrows. How dare Barney try to get the upper hand on her? She was in control here. She was the one with the little pregnancy test sitting unopened on her bathroom counter and afraid of using it because the results might be horrifying.
But there was the ring of a bell and she was at the door, pulling it open to see Spike. Her shoulders nearly sagged in relief. The right shoulder was still a bit sore from Moira's healing, but out of its sling. She greeted him with a half-upturned smile.
"Hey you."

"Hello there, pet," he remarked, wanting to reach out towards her but being unable to at the moment. "Since you're the one who asked me over, I'm gonna assume it's not a bad time. Still, doesn't look like it's the best time, either."

"I've been a little bit indisposed for a couple of weeks." And a badly injured shoulder didn't translate well into the kind of stress relief she needed. Plus, there was the whole terrifying possible pregnancy thing. "And now this whole thing...I'm just a little wired."

He didn't like seeing her like this. There was nothing particularly sympathetic about her, but that was part of what he liked about her. Like minds, and all that. "Seems to me like you should lay off the caffeine and find a more natural stimulant. 'Course, if you're just wanting something to tire you out, I suppose I can help in that regard, too." His voice a little more serious, he added, "Unless you need something else...?"
