River grimaced and was soon shifting in place, awkwardly. Families were tricky business, and she was beginning to get the feeling York would be both welcomed and threatened with death. Especially from the part of her family that lived in the mansion. River winced at how the Doctor would take this news.

Of course, York was eager, but River held up a hand in pause, pressing the flat of it against his chest. "I ought...talk to him. First." Prepare him, more like.

She was also curious how Delta would react to being inside the TARDIS.

He'd reacted well to the music and the familiar wavelengths she'd attempted projecting towards Epsilon. That made her frown, remembering something. "You -- When she was screaming. Delta translated. What was the language?" Perhaps if she could learn to imitate it, the next time, Delta wouldn't be necessary. And York wouldn't bleed.

River propped herself up a little on her elbows, arching upwards a little to read the numbers. Once she'd gotten over the shock of the floating and glowing, she began to read. They made sense, a little. But the threes were oddly shaped (and she didn't think they were threes) and the sevens felt menacing.

As they spun closer River reached up, touching the tail of a five and flinching back a hair when it wobbled. "Beautiful..." And not just the glowing. The sense of it. When the numbers made sense they sang; she committed them to memory.

Looking down at York, she smiled again. "Thank you."

"Thank Delta." He insisted. And as he said that, the numbers all flew together and squished up, creating the figure of Delta, in his translucent green armor. He nodded once to her.

"It was my pleasure, River Tam. Epsilon has taken quite a shining to you and I am interested in pleasing her. She finds your presence comforting. Are you aware of the Erastis that she was asking for?" Erastis, of course, being the Latin word for 'Lover'. But Delta was as in the dark as the rest of them. He had the logic, but he didn't have the memory of Erastis, like Epsilon did. Or else he'd know exactly what was going on. As it was, York and Delta had yet to figure it out.

Erastis...

River looked down at the egg and placed her hand against the dimly pulsating surface. Lovingly moving it in little circles. Epsilon had begged for Erastis, and River was a little confused when Delta asked. She turned to face him, looking from the green man to York.

"How do you not know?"

"That's memory. If Delta doesn't know, I don't know. And when I asked Wash, he didn't know, either. But he did say that we shouldn't poke around and put our noses in places they shouldn't be.. which means that he did know and just didn't want to tell us." York rolled his eyes, but smiled regardless.

River sat up more and the little movement pushed York upwards in the process. Thin brows drew together into a line as she ran her hand carefully through his hair. Always tactile. River needed to touch people for constant reassurance that they were real. She spoke a moment later.

"Tex. Of course." Didn't it make sense?

"What about her?" Prompted with a glance up at her. He enjoyed that she kept touching his hair. He was a touchy-feely sort of man, but it hadn't been a trait that most Spartans enjoyed, so he rarely got any of the interaction.. Still...

"It's her." She enunciated the words more clearly and took a moment's pause from his hair to made sure he paid attention. "Texasmiss is Erastis. Though I do not understand the logic of it." River personally thought Tex would make a terrible lover, but considering her relationship with Church...then it all made sense.

"Church is the Alpha," she explained as her fingers resumed their lazy motion motion, "She had the Omega. The ballad is nearly poetic."

"No.. AIs can't have AIs implanted into their heads, it's just.. it's impossible, River." He was pushing his hand back through his hair, and Delta turned to face the two of them.

"She has a point, York. If Agent Nevada is the Erastis, and she had the AI designation Omega, it would make sense. Church is the Alpha and if Texas were an AI as well, she would be his opposite. Not Beta, but something completely different because she is not a piece of the Alpha, but rather she is an entirely different AI that was not experimented upon and broken into pieces. That would explain why the Director favored her during the Freelancer Program. It would also explain the attraction between Church and Texas."

"If she's an AI, D, she can't carry an AI in her head, that's impossible." And this statement, from York, caused the green light show to go quiet.

"She did. And it broke her." River pulled back from him, sliding away so she could sit cross-legged on the bed and listened to Delta. There was a little smile on her lips -- the faintest of a blush. Not because of what Delta was saying, but because of how attractive that was. Pure logic. River nearly swooned.

Ahem. Back to matters at hand.

"She was the memory of someone lost. He remade her." Her fingers came back to rest against Epsilon. "Alpha indeed."

"The memory of someone? The.. Director's wife." York turned cool blue eyes onto Delta, who had turned to face his carrier, and they stared at one another a moment, before York looked back at River, clearly having just finished a conversation with Delta. "You can't tell her, and you can't tell Church. Church doesn't remember that he's the Alpha, and Tex sure as Hell doesn't know she's an AI. If Tex found out? That would not be a good thing for us, River." Because Tex would *not* be a happy AI.

River shook her head, the soft waves falling back over her shoulders and absently she curled them around her index finger, gaze drifting away from York and Delta to the other end of the room. The mental focus holding her attention span together was beginning to slip apart. "I promise," she murmured, and realized that she'd been making far too many promises of late. "I'll be a quiet little river."

"We'll be able to tell her some day." He inclined his head some and leaned up a little, to press his mouth briefly against her chin again. "But not while she's not ready to hear it." York often didn't make much sense. But Delta was speaking up shortly after.

"Her psyche is very fragile right now and I am uncertain as to how she would react to the realization that she is not a real person and that most of her childhood memories are implanted, and that a large portion of her life is a lie." Helpfully, from the AI.

"Thanks, D."

"I am here to assist."
