Robin was out and about, exploring the marina. Robin tightened her coat, sheltering her bare hands by crossing her arms and tucking them beneath her underarms. Damn cold weather.

But here she was, at the marina, she had promised herself to explore the town, and who should she come across but Edward. "Edward? Hey! What are you doing?"

One thing he rather liked about Robin, was that she didn't preface his name with any titles. Alright, so he didn't actually introduce himself with any, but that was besides the point. It was quite refreshing.

"Robin!" he called back down to her. "Just enjoying a bit of fresh air. Fancy taking a look?"

I'm guessing this is gonna be dated a little before Crowley shows up, 10~30 min alone ;) scherbotsky February 24 2009, 01:57:08 UTC
"Sure", she didn't have much else to do. "So this is your boat uh?" He might have mentioned something about it during the Valentines Day Dance. She took a hesitant step forward.

"Yes." Pellew chuckled. "She doesn't bite, Robin," he said. "Much." He looked thoughtful for a second. "Hang on. I'll be right down." He started to make his way down to the deck level.

He had just been taking a walk. It had happened that he had passed by the marina. He wouldn't have stopped for a moment if it hadn't been for the ship. There was an eighteenth century man of war in the harbor. Well, maybe, they liked to do reenactments ( ... )

Sir Edward was quite lost in thought - contemplating a great deal of things. So really, it shouldn't come as that much of a surprise, that he didn't notice the person in the rigging until they were directly in front of him.

Pellew scrambled to his feet, instinctively reaching for the pistol he kept tucked in his belt. "I must say, I am impressed," he began. "Not many people around these parts would know how to get up here." He moved closer to the edge to take a better look.

Which was when he wondered if he was seeing things. "My God. Hornblower?!"

Crowley was going to point out that, really, he didn't know how to get up there and probably wouldn't be able to get back down again when he was called- What? Was that even a name? He considered whether it was worth trying to pretend to be Mr. Hornblower. It probably was, but that wasn't a great way to start off in a new town. Nothing confrontational, he had said to himself. Keep his nose clean.

He had spent a bit of the eighteenth century on ships, thank you very much. Admittedly, he had used a bosun's chair as often as not, but it was a good party trick. Er, well, when parties were held on ships, which wasn't very often these days. Crowley didn't think that was all too unfortunate. "Hi," he called up. He considered climbing the rest of the way and decided firmly against it. "Do I have to come up, or are you going to come down?"

at least, I -think- he was a commander when the series finished. Damn, need to watch 'em again ^_^ indiepellew February 24 2009, 15:06:34 UTC
Sir Edward did not even stop to consider the possibility that this was merely someone who looked uncannily like Hornblower. Despite his acquaintance with Lee - who was very obviously Not Lieutenant Kennedy. (Maybe it was the hair colour that did it).

"You stay where you are, Commander," he said (old habits - and titles - were hard to break, after all). "I'll be down shortly." Pellew was still more than a little surprised at the sudden appearance of a familiar face. "If you don't mind me asking," he said, as he made his way down, "how in the world did you end up here?"

Not that he was complaining, or anything.

Matt hummed absently to himself, letting his feet lead him to nowhere in particular. The day was nice enough that it was high time he went outside again, having spent probably the last week either in front of his computer or asleep. If she could find him, his physical therapist would probably rip him a new one for not stretching his knee for a while. So yeah. Walking. Right.

And, hey. There was that ship again. Still huge, still weird, but definitely still there. He craned his neck, looking it over.

Edward seemed disturbed at the appearence of this new fellow - called him Hornblower? Got to be some sort of innuendo - so Robin was content with watching the scene unfold without causing too much trouble. That's when she spotted another familiar face.

"Matt?" She waved, "Hello!"

Matt blinked, turning to see Robin. "Hey!" He waved back. She seemed happy to see him. Good. Maybe she wasn't still out for blood, not that she was ever but she had talked about guns and whatnot and, right. She was also on the boat. Ship? There was a difference, but Matt wasn't sure what it was. Should he go up? He had been up before, but that didn't mean. Uh. "Hi," he said again, shading his eyes.

Matt always seemed to be on edge about something. Robin frowned, still smiling - she was having a pretty good day all things considered - but ignored his strange attitude. Maybe he was just a nervous guy.

"What are you doing at the marina?" She called out, seeing Edward getting distracted. She followed him down the stairs, a few steps behind him.
