Robin was in town, which Barney thought was interesting. She couldn't keep away from him. What could he say? But there was something slightly unsettling upon having someone from one life meet the people from another life. So, with this thought, Barney needed to relax and unwind. Besides, he loved pampering himself. Who better to love and take care of Barney than the man himself? Merry Christmas to me, he thought with a grin, looking in the mirror as he passed by. Only half suited up, with his trousers and a bathrobe over the fine material of his shirt, the Barnacle still felt good.
He had an hour to kill in between his facial, which he just got, and his manly manicure. Through the mirror, the curly haired blonde caught sight of a familiar slip of a girl.
Grinning, he turned around and lifted his eyebrows. "Didn't take you for the spa type." Commented in amusement. He liked the Crazy-Cute girl well enough!
River turned at the sound of the voice, hair plastered damply over her shoulders and in veinlike threads on her throat. The first sight of Barney didn't register -- she'd grown accustomed to seeing the Suit. But then the images came together and she smiled, greeting with the wave of a hand.
"I'm -- um -- resting." Approaching him, she let her hands twist anxiously. She saw him, but she didn't hear him. And this was becoming unnerving. "Need to put the house in order."
He lifted his eyebrows and moved over toward River, "House in order?" He thought about this for a minute, giving her a funny look, then got it. She needed to relax and regain her Riverness. Made sense. Barney did something similar to regain his Barneyness.
"Working yet?" He motioned with his head that they take a walk. "What you need is a massage!"
"Bits and pieces." River nudged him with an awkward shoulder. "The symbolism is what's important. Always the symbols..." She was getting better. Well, if not better then back to how she'd been before. A calmer state of madness.
She met his eyes with a confused smile. "Massage? Like messages -- " wrinkling her nose, " -- but in the form of hands in circles."
Denny loved the spa. Made a man feel...pretty. Good for the circulation. Always worth it to be pampered. He'd just had a soak in a pool of imported mud from some volcano somewhere, infused with something expensive or other. Rose petals? Gold flakes? Denny could never remember. It was supposed to make your skin soft like a baby's.
Speaking of soft skin...he saw someone down the hall who looked like she had very soft skin.
River emerged from the mini-yoga session feeling calmer, stretchier, and altogether more centered than she had earlier. She turned to offer Barney a smile as he followed. "Better than a massage," she concluded, padding down the hallway on bare feet and stretching her arms up over her head.
Barney grinned, "I personally like massages, but it is good." His whole workout career was based on this sort of treatment. Heh. Walking down the hall as well, Barney was (vaguely) surprised to see Denny and waved.
"You found this place too!" To his other normally suited friend.
Denny's spa robe was very plush, but it was strange to see Barney in anything but a suit. Denny had the sense that he was rarely without it.
"Barney! I always find out where the spas are before I go to a new place." He turned to the girl who was with him and smiled his Denny Crane smile. "And who are you, young lady?"
