Meeting with Harry
Harry owled me yesterday and asked if we could meet for lunch today at one of the Muggle restaurants. Fortunately, most of my Muggle clothing is still fitting me, although it's getting to be a tight squeeze and I'm going to need to go into maternity clothing soon. Putting my Unspeakable robes in the closet that they provide for us in case we need to go into Muggle London, I put my coat on over my Muggle clothing and head out of the Ministry and towards the restaurant where Harry and I are meeting.
Entering the restaurant, I find Harry waiting for me and give him a smile and a hug. "How are Ginny and Lily doing?"
As he sits down I can't help but note the bags under his eyes. He smiles wanly at me. "It was pretty rough the first couple of days, and Lily isn't anywhere close to being ready to sleep through the night, but we are getting a handle on it."
"Yes, it will be a couple of months at least before she'll sleep through the night. But you know what? In March Ron and I will be looking to you guys for all the advice," I say with a laugh. "Did Ron tell you we picked a name? His name will be Ryan Arthur Robert Weasley."
Harry genuinely smiles. "o, he didn't, but then thanks to that git partner of his we don't get to talk too much about things outside of work lately."
"Oh trust me, I hear all about it," I say with a laugh. The waiter comes and brings us glasses of water. "So, what did you want to talk to me about?" I ask after the waiter leaves.
He leans forward and I'm sure I see him flick his wand putting up a Muffilato Charm. "Okay, this stays between us, okay? You can tell Ron, but no one else."
"Of course, Harry. You know that you can trust me. What's up?" Obviously whatever it is, it's something very important.
He glances around once again, like he half-expects Death Eaters or something worse to jump out from behind the fake plants. "Well you see, Tonks and I have been tracking down Viktor Crabbe and Gustav Goyle and we are positive we have pinpointed an area in Cheapside that they are using to hide in."
I follow along intently.
"Anyhow, the problem is to find the exact location we'd need to go through six months of bureaucratic red tape to get the Ministry to set up and monitor the area for magic that isn't supposed to be there. In that amount of time the two of them could commit any number of crimes. So... " Harry pauses as he runs his hands through his hair, "I figured if anyone knew a spell to detect magic, or could come up with a way we could just sweep the area on foot to find something that isn't supposed to be there it would be you."
I think for a few moments. "I can't think of anything off the top of my head; I'll have to look through my books to see what I can come up with. I can also do some snooping around at work. Fortunately they trust me more than they trust other Unspeakable interns. Can you give me a couple of days to see what I can find?"
