I must confess I've never thought much of museums, not being one to appreciate the fine arts, but I have to say that Just Another Dharma is lovely.

LOL about the master and pet thing. Sometimes I wonder, who the real master and pet is, especially when you come across owners who are positively obsessed with their furry friends.

The seal carving sounds fascinating, though. I've always thought they were beautiful.

I'm glad you had a good time. =)

I totally fell in love with a great deal of the stuff there. Makes me feel very depressed that I'm not artistically talented. I can do little sketches - that's the extent of my drawing capabilities. xD I wanted to buy the artbooks (prints of the artworks!) from the museum shop but they cost the earth. xD No money. T____T

The master and pet thing is just freaky!!! x___X I stepped onto the second floor and took one look and almost stepped backwards off onto the staircase again. x___X

The seal carving is definitely very cool. The biggest one in the collection is the one Hoong did for then-Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, and it's absolutely massive and looks really heavy and is really intricate. ♥

Thank you! =D

Wushu did a seal carving course in Nanyang, once, because we were (sort of) part of Chinese society. It's very difficult, but it's very satisfying to see your finished work, whether it be ugly or not.

Personally, I love going to museums alone. Going with people (especially the arty sort), I feel like I need to say something intelligent about it, when I just feel like standing there for hours and contemplating one piece. Do you have that feeling too? (The point of this paragraph, ironically enough, was to ask if I could go along on your museum-walkabout.)

Anyway, I'm astonished that you've never been to a museum in Singapore before. History Museum is even better, in my opinion. Actually, in my opinion I wouldn't bring a tourist to the museums, because they're really nothing compared to like the ones in the UK and the US. I'd bring them to Little India, or Chinatown. Seriously. Those are really cool places, if you let yourself get lost in the little streets.

OLE only gave me one shift! I am sad. ):

I loved going alone, yes. Mostly because I have the bizarre habit of pausing and scribbling stuff down, and it can be very disconnected stuff and I can sit in one spot and write for a good twenty minutes. It'd be a bit trying to go with me to a museum, I think. xD I have always believed that company is overrated. Friends are good but I've never seen what's wrong with going to watch a movie alone, or to wander the streets and shop alone ( ... )

Aww, you totally make me want to go to the Singapore Art Museum again. The last time I went was about half a year ago or something?

Anyway. Happy new year! Hope you have a great 2008. :D
