[ The screen flickers, and a girl of about 11 with long brown hair and eyes that seem to stare right into the heart of you appear. Despite the communication device visual, it's apparent she's a little different then most little girls. Maybe it's the way she bridges her fingertips,  or how she purses her lips before speaking. ]

[For a few moments, he looks just slightly uncertain - not with the topic at hand, but with whether or not this little device is working. There's a light on it now, so that must mean something.]

How unusual for a child to be so calm and logical in this sort of situation.

[ Cryptic words are cryptic. Chase's eyes narrow, somewhat, and she speaks after choosing her words carefully. ]

Hold those qualities close; they'll serve you well in this place, I know it. A pity you probably lack the wisdom and experience that comes with an older age or you could be a candidate for leadership.

You're very bright for your age. How can we really make a good judgement call for a leader when we've all only barely met?

[ The comment does make Chase light up, somewhat. Clearly not used to compliments. ]

Some form of order, even if it's just for now, would be best. I, for one, don't like the feeling of everyone-out-for-themselves. As long as we're careful not to make a totalitarian-esque place, or a dictator or anything, we should be okay. Especially if everyone knows it's temporary.

[ A half-smile. ] I'm not really good at the politics thing, but it seems like the best option. In my opinion, at least.

[ She gives a little smile, amused. Very bright indeed. ]

Even a council would require we hold a vote for positions, within a group mostly unfamiliar to each other. Perhaps what would be best right now is an equal sharing of information, as it seems we're all in the same boat of confusion.

Perhaps with someone to collect and catalog it?

Of course. It was a bit too hasty, but in my defense at least it got everyone thinking. [ A small, unsure smile ] I don't like it when there isn't an order to things.

If trying to organize something this chaotic means being a little snot, then yes.

Given the awareness that the majority of the vessel's misappropriated residents are not yet recovered from the mental and physical strain exacerbated by exiting the stasis chamber, I anticipate that such a query may be perceived as somewhat premature.

[ Big words! Finally! Have a nearly-grinning Chase, even if he's debunking her previous words.]

But surely, some temporary form of order is needed? Sooner the better.

[ Can you blame her for being antsy about this when she's dealt with the Writing Writer and the Ghansgraad her entire life? ]

she certainly doesn't carry herself like a vulcan, even if her ability to reason and temperament argue to the contrary. it's refreshing if nothing else. ]

I am inclined to agree, however, [ on the opposite end, his fingers steeple before him. ] a vast number of those emerging from stasis are emotionally compromised by both the experience and circumstances of their arrival. An emotionally based decision would be most unwise.

[ Chase considers this for a moment, and there's silence as she contemplates things before she nods. ]

I suppose that could also be emotionally compromised. Running around in a panic will get us no where, however.
