I've always hated these catch-up entries. I think it's why I gave up on my old journal. After not updating for a month, I'd find that I had way too much stuff to cover, get frustrated, and then just not post at all. Of course, those were supposed to be thoughtful, pithy entries, so when the entry turned into a grocery list of what I'd been up to,
