Haruki Murakami's "1Q84" wins Goodreads' "Best Fiction of 2011". I seriously need to read that book. Murakami is one of my favorite authors, even if I have yet finished some of his titles (most notably, "Dance, Dance, Dance" and "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle"). The casting department at The Good Wife is brilliant!! I couldn't imagine how they managed to cram all those people in one episode, but they did, and I loved it!

I think it's better to just read books you like and are interested in instead of trying to read books you don't care at all. I, for myself, have come to the point where I don't care what people think. I like my genres, so what?! Life's way easier that way!

I have been at this point for awhile now, especially since I rejuvenate my reading motivation by having Kindle and exploring the world of m/m romance. Having said that, sometimes I feel guilty to myself because I don't try enough to read fiction/literature. Then I counter myself by saying, at least I still read *lol*.

Exactly.
I think it is even worse in Germany here, the fiction part and the entertainment part. It annoys me so much but oh well.

Yeah, we always say that we should read what interests us. I would like to explore lit/fic a little more but I don't usually go to those bookshelves. I'm sure there are novels that would interest me if I'd give them a chance, lol.
