When Kid pounds on the door, she lets out a terrible squeak of alarm from her lack of voice and outright ignores it, covering up her ears. But his coughing and the sound of his voice filter through, slipping through the loose fingertips and causing her to look back at her communicator sitting halfway across the floor.]

[She starts to crawl slowly toward it, reaching her hand out until the slamming begins again. The girl cowers against the floor, covering her head. Stop. Please stop... Kid...]

He coughs again, then sighs. His voice seems to gurgle the dark liquid, but he speaks anyway.]
A-Angel... Nill...
[And a new word.]

... But Kid was calling for her, and something sounded wrong. Very wrong.
It would seem like ages before the girl finally mustered the strength to literally crawl her way over to the door, reaching her hand up to twist the knob above and peeking cautiously out as it opened a crack.]

[Once she saw him, her eyes widened and her lack of voice let out a broken scream while her hands quickly drifted up to her face. A ghost of what could have been.]

But the sight of Nill brought him to an odd euphoric height... before that expression dragged him into the deepest, coldest pits of despair. How dare he cause such a dark expression to form? This was an awful situation to be in, yet he froze and a small, tired smile formed. Slowly, things came to mind, muddled and disorganized and far from symmetrical but Kid didn't mind at all. He just spoke softly.]
I didn't mean to scare you.
[The insanity hadn't left, but Kid could feel it dancing in the corner of his mind. It was enough to push away, with most of his thoughts.]
