Info on photo op tickets

Mar 07, 2010 19:50

I've just been talking to Wayne and he's told me that for all future events (A4, AEU, A5, Insurgence, Vampire Diaries and anything else they run in the future) they will not be holding back any tickets to sell at the events as has been done in previous years. ALL photo op tickets will be put on sale online, then only if there are any unsold they ( Read more... )

There isnt anything you need to do, you get one single photoshoot with each main guest attending. It's not like last year where there were more guests than photoshoots included so you chose who you wanted, for this year you simply get one of each.

I know I am going to be very much unpopular after posting this, but I have been to quite a few creation cons and to Dragon Con twice, and if there was demand for more photo ops, they made it happen. I don`t know of a single celeb, that refused, and there are more than 500 at Dragon Con each year.......*shrugs*

(btw, Creation Cons and Dragon Con...two of the biggests cons in the U.S. ever)

It is the Creation model that's being followed, for Creation's Supernatural cons they sell a certain amount of photo ops and if they sell out they do NOT make more available, sold out means sold out. DragonCon is a signing event rather than a convention of the same type and you simply cannot compare them.

well, no offense, but at the last Creation con I have been at, ance the Michael Shanks Tickets were sold out, they just used magic markers, to changer other artist's photo op tickets to Michael Shanks photo op tickets

I can't speak for non-Supernatural conventions run by Creation, but I can assure you that for the SPN ones they are not run that way, photoshoot and autograph tickets often sell out very quickly. And overselling only causes problems, they have to have a finite amount of tickets, they cannot simply continue to sell tickets until everyone's had one, otherwise it's impossible to write a schedule. Timings at these events are fairly tight, and they know how many photos they can comfortably take in the slots available. Last year they tried to sell more than was comfortable for the time available in order for as many people as possible to get their photos with Jared, Jensen and Misha and it was a nightmare. I worked the photo studio the entire weekend and it was literally a case of people running in, standing for 3 seconds, photo taken, run out, next. That is NOT the way they ever intend of having things done again, and if it means that less photoshoots are sold then so be it, it should not be a conveyor belt again as it was last year. I can't book any photo ops until he replies to my e-mail :(

if you would like me to contact him for you please send me a PM and I'll see if I can find anything out. I've sent him a vague message saying someone wants to book their photos but is waiting for a reply from him to their email but I'm sure that doesn't really help him narrow it down.

I don't like this idea, but I understand the rationale behind it. Makes it easier on you guys and on us now that we can simply go to your site and clickyclicky, but...
It doesn't seem right that the only way you can now order these photo ops is a way that carries with it a hidden fee in two possible places: one, your handling fee and two, the card issuing bank's fee.
What if a bunch of photo op tickets are unsold and you want to unhand them, will they still only be offered for sale online, even at the event? I see a great irony happening there: someone at the event goes online, clicks onto your site, buys a ticket, pays the hidden fees and gets the email confirmation to then go and have the photo op at the venue...

Will go and check out your site right now to plan my best course of action...

no of course not, if tickets are still left after they shut the online shop (which will be before the event) then the remaining tickets will be sold at the event, not online. And I'm sorry, what hidden fees? Most banks don't charge anything to transfer money, they shouldn't do, and there's no handling fee, I'm not sure what you are referring to. The amount you should pay if you order online is the same amount you'd pay if you bought them at the event, there are no 'hidden fees'.

I think there's an option if your bank charges for SEPA payments (which mine doesn't, btw) to contact Rogue and sort something out.

and I'm pretty sure they won't sell them online AT the event. that'd just be stupid.

I can guarantee you that any leftover tickets wont be sold online during the event, as you said that would be stupid, they will be sold from the ticket office as previously,

Hi!
It's good all photos are available online, but I still have no idea if I got the package I paid for and what happened to my money. I have no idea if I have to buy any photos or not. I don't want to be rude, I am just saying. Confirmations would be very helpful before you sell them ._.

All the confirmations for A4 and AEU should be done in the next day or so, but as Wayne said here: http://community.livejournal.com/asylum_con/212151.html you dont need your confirmation to book your tickets, if they can't match your order with your ticket you'll hear from them. Why do you not know what happened to your money? How did you pay? If you paid by cheque or bank transfer all you need to do is check your bank statement to see if the money was received. If you paid by cash or postal order you should have sent it by Recorded or Special Delivery, in which case you have proof of postage and delivery. I can't see the issue?

Hi!
Yes, it was bank transfer. The problem is that I upgraded to the Diamond Package and don't know if it worked. I think 6 Photos are included in the package and so I don't need to buy them seperatly, right? It's just the question if I need to buy Photo OPs or if I have them in my package :(

If you've got a Diamond package then you dont need to buy anything. As I said the confirmations should be done in the next day or so, so I'm sure you'll find out soon.
