Hi Wayne, Does this mean I have to pay the full outstanding balance off now? I have been prompt with my payments and have paid all instalments due, I was about to send off the next one today.
I dont know, I've asked Wayne to let me know what it means for those who are already paying in installments.
It's very sad that a great scheme like this has to be abandoned because of a some people that abuse the system when it's been so useful to so many up to now.
Oh, thank christ for that, thanks so much *kneels at Wayne's feet and gives thanks* It is a bummer for all of us that genuinely need that option and have paid promptly isn't it. *smacks the offenders upside the head*
May I ask about confirmation letters, please? I would like to know when we can expect to receive confirmation letters for A4 in Birmingham. Thank you in advance:-)
There arent confirmation letters as such. Closer to the convention (not sure when) you will receive a registration letter that has your badge number on it. They are still working through the payments received for A4 and will be updating the Roman Cart system on the website to say that tickets are paid for, which should generate an automated email to let you know the status has been changed, but they're still working on their own system at the moment logging the payments, hence this new announcement, because it's all been more complicated than expected, and every non-payment, or payment made without a RC number causes them problems and delays them updating everyone else. Don't forget that instead of bookings being spread out throughout the year as previously, they sold all 1000 tickets in less than 3 weeks, plus tickets for Hell Hounds at the same time, so that's a lot of paperwork and they have to wait for bank statements each month to give them the full information they need on the payments received by bank transfer

That's really helpful information, Janine - thanks. I've been surprised Wayne hasn't responded to either of my emails letting him know the cheque he said he put in the post to me on 14th July hasn't arrived; having heard this, I'll give him a bit longer before following up.
I honest to god nearly had a heart attack when I saw this on Twitter.
That's extremely unfair and very low of people to abuse the system. Especially since it was so good of Wayne & Paul to let us pay by part payment at all.
I only have one part-payment left to go for Asylum 4 so will this affect my payment?
they already have an eshop, its integrated into the website, but they can't take online payments, no online payment provider will allow them to without charging huge amounts or asking them to cover every £ taken with their own money, and that includes the banks.
Is it the large majority of the part payment payers that are messing this up? Because if on the whole they're in the minority this is really unfair on everyone else. I've paid in full for A1 and 2 and was lucky to be in a position to cover a couple of friends for A3 with the introduction of the packages I paid for the ticket then the upgrade separate because we'd booked at A2 and this year I wouldnt have been able to go if it wasnt for the part payments. It's likely that that will be the issue in future - especially if they are only doing cash transactions at the event like this year - I have a limit on how much cash I can withdraw and I like to get the higher packages cause it works out more cost effective in the long run and takes the nightmare out of having to get the photos individually at a later date
( ... )
they wont be doing cash payments for tickets at the event again, that was only because of the short time period between the paypal mess up and the event. In future all tickets will need to be paid for before the event.
sorry, to add I think sending warnings out etc just makes extra work for them. Obviously not having an instant payment method like Paypal does make this kind of thing more prevalent, I dont think it was such an issue previously, but since none of the online payment companies are prepared to work with us (they consider the business a ticket agency and therefore too much of a risk of chargebacks), there is not much else that can be done at the moment. As for how many people have done that, I'm afraid I have no idea, but it must be a lot for them to have come to this decision.
No by cash payments I meant when buying at the event for the following event.. the first two years we were able to pay for the following year by card but this year for A4 they could only take cash payments on the packages. Sorry, I'm never very clear when I babble but it's a habit I cant seem to shake hehe. It really would be a nightmare if they allowed people to just turn up at registration and want to pay, I can imagine there would be a few without the full payments.
I know it makes extra work but if the message is that they're chasing people around for payments anyway.. its more a progression of just limiting how much chasing they will do - one email as warning and then if there's no follow up to it that person loses their ticket. I know it's not ideal but just thinking out loud I guess.
Although I guess it might not matter for future events, every year they say they wont be doing another one hehe.
yes they always say each event will be the last, Wayne says that to me regularly lol.
I do think they need to be stricter with the payments, they did say that payments had to be made within 5 days of the ticket order but that doesnt seem to have been enforced. Its unfair on others if some people take advantage of the system and therefore take longer to pay. If we still had Paypal or another online payment method then this could be avoided but no matter who they try, no-one's willing to give them online payment facilities without asking for arms, legs and other essential body parts as part of the deal.
Please please please don't be so cruel to us who have payed two instalments in due time and make us pay the rest in one batch! I am unemployed and my boyfriend is a student, so we are just not able to pay the rest in one batch (not if we want to eat and pay the rent anyway). In that case we have to cancel and I do hope we can get a full refund if that happens, The part payment system is the ONLY way we can afford to pay the tickets and now that has been taken away too, because of some effing selfish idiots :( *panicking*
Wayne has gotten back to me, if you're already paying in installments it's fine, just carry on as before, this only affects new ticket sales (ie. for Asylum Europe etc)

And it's just a thought, and Wayne & Paul have probably already thought of this but how about creating an eshop

for buying Rogue events stuff?
