My must read Phantoms/Afghanistan rec is definitely Down the Waterfall, which is gen John/Teyla friendship. It's so good I haven't seen anyone really try to top it.

I haven't read a lot of these in a long time or more than skimmed them but I think it's pretty exhaustive of what's on LJ. New azure_horizon story and it is off to a great start. Please go read and encourage her to continue. I can't praise her enough. I love anything with Sheppard and memos (a genius chapter on just that in RowenaR's Protect and Survive: Show the World) so she's hooked me already.

Two fantastic John/Teyla stories so far out of the secret santa community. Possibly two of my favorite stories ever for the pairing. Both tend more towards the gen side as I suspect they were written by non J/T fans.
