You mean before everybody started jumping on the "comedy duo/trio with guitar/s" bandwagon?

Since pretty much forever - Well, probably not active ones anymore - from Smothers Brothers to Bobby Joe Ebola & The Children MacNuggits.

Although the latter still play irregular shows. FOTC kind of annoy me because BJE have the deep voiced guy and the mid-range guy who plays the guitar as well, sure it's not a deliberate thing, but the similarity is hugely incidental.

Try this: http://www.myspace.com/thrillhouserecordsthelabel - it's sort of a home for the alternative to alternative, not exactly comedy, but funny.

well its a good concept, in any case. i'm a big fan of music in comedy.. like bill bailey's routines.

teehee. I remember seeing these guys in a couple of Comedy Festival things on tv. :) Seems like they're in NY these days.

That's why they call them "business socks".

Maybe you should watch 'Eagle vs Shark'

Jemaine (spelling?) is in it. It's a strange little New Zealand love story.

Oh it's got the loveliest soundtrack! Phoenix Foundation and Age Pryor <3

Bret is part part of the Wellingtin international Ukulele Orchestra that I've been manically raving about for weeks on end. He's just not around so much with them, but their CD is with him on it.

He's also just got a single out with his band "The Black Seeds" - I think it's called "One" but not so sure. "When the war is over and the fighting's done we're going to be lieing in the sun" - something like that, very nice.

Bret's solo album under the name of Videokid is also rather nice.

(not a Bret fan, just a New Zealander, who's getting bombarded with Bret & Jemaine and isn't complaining about it)
