You know I was going to be a total idgit and do a "KYA! Heero lurves Duo, that's why he took it! You're the bestest, where more????" buuuut, I didn't have it in me. I think in the end I was just happy to read a decent fic of the GW form once again.

Yay! This makes perfect sense... and it shows just how much Duo matters to that old coot... and perhaps Heero? Nah, Howard was probably right that Heero would "take the part from Deathscythe rather than jimmy-rig a new one". He was kind of touchy about what was done to his beloved Wing, after all.
