Is There Actually A Cure For Fandom Brain?

Mar 12, 2013 20:54

I... may have watched that episode again. And then immediately gone back and re-re-watched certain scenes. Damn, but that is pretty much everything I love in a TV show. But I do kind of wish these things would stop taking over my brain quite this strongly. It is getting downright embarrassing. Not to mention distracting. And, geez, look at ( Read more... )

I sort of understand the sudden desire to immerse oneself in something. Right now, for me, it's Steam Powered Giraffe ... and that was one that I heard of from watching fandom_secrets over on Dreamwidth. These days I've been hearing about OUaT, but I haven't gotten involved, much as I've long been a fan of Robert Carlyle. And I don't have the time to try to get caught up. Sigh.

Best of luck on all your obsessions!

I do not know what a Steam Powered Giraffe is, and given how unbelievably suggestible my fandom brain seems to be lately, it might be better if I keep it that way. Fandoms have been ambushing me from all kinds of unexpected directions lately. :)

OUaT has led me to the discovery that Robert Carlyle -- whom I'd previously seen in a couple of movies but not really made any particular note of -- is freaking amazing. He impresses me in new and different ways in practically every scene he's in.

But, boy, do I know what it's like not to have time to get caught up on things. Not that that seems to stop me, somehow. I just end up taking time from things I should be doing. :)

Best of luck on all your obsessions!

Thank you. Heck, if they're going to happen anyway, I guess I might as well relax and enjoy them. :)

I'm afraid I did the same ! Some moments I could barely stand to watch again. But Rumple/Cora... I'm quite sold to the idea.

The moments I could barely stand to watch again were some of the best moments to watch again. *sniffle*

And, yes, me, too, quite sold. Which when you think about it, given that there are really just, what, four whole scenes in the episode to develop it, is a sign of some very impressive writing. Of course, the huge, "Wow, that explains a lot!" factor undoubtedly helps. I am constantly impressed by how well things hang together in this show, and how every time we learn something new about a character, it tends to work so well with what we already know, even when it's something surprising.
