I just recently watched season 1 of Slings and Arrows, which was rather marvelous. And right now I'm a few episodes into season 1 of ( Read more... )

We love Slings and Arrows! We've seen the first two seasons; we have the set for the third, but we haven't started yet.

I'm planning on getting to S2 soonish. Although I am wondering where they're likely to go with it... S1 seemed nicely self-contained.

ZOMG, Slings and Arrows yay!

I rewatched the whole thing on YouTube recently, and oh, it's still lovely in every possible way.

Also Anna >>> everyone.

Anna is marvelous. But I think all of the characters are great, even the ones that are awful. :)

I've been wondering about Burn Notice, myself. The way you and RSR are both talking, I think I'll take a look sooner rather than later...

Burn Notice is fun. Not terribly deep, but fun. It takes everything that's entertaining about the spy genre (IMO, anyway) and brings it down to earth in a way that's wryly funny. And the main character is great: incredibly competent, capable, kick-ass, resourceful, charming, capable of smoothly playing all kinds of roles... and yet, under it all, a tiny little bit of a dork, as far as actual relationships go. And he also has aforementioned wry sense of humor. It's a killer combination, as far as I'm concerned. :)

Yes, this. And Michael has two fantastic sidekicks in Sam and Fiona (I want her wardrobe, seriously--with guns); three, if you count his mother (which I always do *g*).

Yes, they're all really fun characters. And the fact that the poor guy has to deal with his family on top of all the spy stuff is... well, it's a genius idea for a TV series, is what it is. :)
