Zombie Fic!

Apr 23, 2006 09:14

The deadline's been pushed back a few more days, but apathocles told me to go ahead and post, so here's my dialzforzombies story! I was writing for innle, who requested, well, a whole bunch of fandoms, the only one of which I can write is New Who, so that's what we've got. As requested this contains no zombie porn (and believe me, that was not a difficult request to adhere to ( Read more... )

Well, they could have been fighting zombies, y'know.

Actually, nope. One of the rules of the ficathon was that one of the canon characters has to either get zombified or have their brain eaten. This being a ficathon run by apathocles, Queen of Crack. :)

Bwahahaha! The title was perfect too. OK, you do these so well, you're the comedy zombie queen. :-)

Dare I hope for Lost zombies?

It was one of the rare cases where the working title I came up with when I first started writing actually ended up being the one I finally used. :)

you're the comedy zombie queen.

Thank you! I do seem to have a weird -- and perhaps mildly disturbing -- affinity for it. :) Really, there's just nothing like zombies to help me indulge my fondness for black humor.

Dare I hope for Lost zombies?

Probably not, considering that I hate to write for any show until/unless I'm completely up on the canon. Given that I'm watching Lost on DVD, I probably won't be caught up until after the show's off the air. :)

I was kind of just thinking about Lost zombies though, 'cause I just recently watched the scene where they're burying [name of dead person deleted for spoiler reasons] and Hurley says the guy's probably gonna rise from the grave and that Hurley'll undoubtledly be the one who ends up as zombie fodder. Heh. I couldn't help thinking, man, that actually doesn't seem remotely unlikely, all things considered. :

Well, Locke was healed. Maybe dead people can be too.

I was just trying to think of shows you could zombify and haven't already, and people here mentioned a Farscape zombie baby fic. How about The Sopranos? Or TNG? Zombies meet Data!

Technically, it was a brain-eating alien, not an actual zombie. Though I can think of at least one actual Farscape zombie fic.

How about The Sopranos?

LOL! Oh, man, as high as the body count is on that show, if the dead start coming back, they're all in trouble. :) I'm in the same boat with that show, though, re: the DVD watching. And really don't think I've got a good enough handle on the characters to write that show, anyway. Even if I do have the advantage of being from New Jersey.

Zombies meet Data!

I doubt positronic brains are all that appetizing to your average zombie. :)

"You know, Rose, I'm sure you have the most lovely cerebellum..."

Oh my god, I LOVE YOU.

Seriously, the set-up? So cracktastic, and so much love. And the way he manages to hold off, albeit shakily, from eating brains for so long? And then the zombie baby at the end - OH MY GOD.

Poor hungry zombie!Doctor. All that time fighting monsters, and he's trying hard not to turn into one. Ooh! That's, like, all metaphorical! Way more than anything actually in the story is. :)

Anyway, glad you like.

I like the changes, and yeah, still laughing like an idiot every time I read this. lol! My favorite part is when he tries to kill himself and ends up with a big 2-pronged knife in his chest and a ruined jumper. Love it!

I didn't make all the suggested changes, I'm afraid, but some of your advice was very helpful. :)
