My reactions were much the same.

"But the dog people with personal obligations to save individual humans makes no sense to me at all. Like, where were they during the last seventeen apocalypses? Just for starters?"

I was wondering that too. And to send seven billion spaceships to evacuate seven billion people is a mind-boggling way to do it.

The Doctor's solution for protecting Earth seemed likely to buy just a matter of minutes before the Flux gobbled up the Sun.

I did like the guy monitoring something or other in his spaceship out in the back of beyond and bored out of his mind. As someone pointed out, he seemed to owe something to Lister from "Red Dwarf".

Yeah, it it was cat people, each one insisting on doing it separately on their own individual ship might make more sense, but you'd think dog people would be able to work together better. Although, honestly, most of the cats probably wouldn't even bother. :)

I did rather like that spaceship guy, too. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of him, despite how this one ended.

Glad I wasn't the only one to think the storyline is very bitty. As a first episode of a new series it kinda stank. Its almost like TV is now made to be binged watched rather than hope your audience has the patience to wait until next week for it to begin to make sense (assuming they do begin to tie in the separate threads.)

I don't even actually mind that kind of storytelling, honestly. But, boy, does it work a lot better when I have more of a solid sense of trust in it.
