I'm *really* happy to hear that, 'cuz I'd been struggling quite a bit with this one: I went through a bit of "I suuuck", until I gave up and tossed my first attempt out and started fresh (which is always the better thing to do when stuck but I can be really stubborn and waste an hour on a drawing trying to salvage it, instead of just cutting my losses...)
Looking at it again, I think it's the color/shading around the eyes and mouth that bring it most to life. I totally understand the feeling of not being able to tell whether it's working because you've worked on it too long. But trust me on this one.
Also, I didn't mention it before, but your quick sketches are stunningly fabulous. They have so much character and gesture. I really love them.
