Okay, okay, everyone is creating journals at GJ, and I have no idea what it's about because I've been way too enthralled by the wank that shook HP fandom... but anyway, I caved and created a place holder journal. I don't intend to post on it, but should fandom decide to flock over there, I'll have my username secured (I googled astridv... it's more ( Read more... )

And why is everyone flocking there? :(

I don't have the foggiest. Something about LJ possibly planning to cater to the teeny crowd, and Vox, and... no idea, really, but here is an admin post that addresses the user reactions. Everybody and their brother have been creating journals at Greatest Journal to have a second option, and possibly as a warning sign for LJ not to mess with the site too much. I didn't follow the discussion, mostly because of above mentioned wank. Besides, I don't feel entitled to anything since I'm not a paid user. But I reserved a GJ id just in case. I don't think I'll need it anytime soon though.

The msscribe wank/expose is just about the most enthralling wank I ever did see. I used to think Crystalwank was pretty much tops, but this one blew it out of the water. I'm not in HP fandom, but even I've been hearing about the various feuds and tragedies forever. And to see it all traces back to one person is amazing, if you have a sick fascination with these things as I alas do. Plus, the the exposer, charlottelennox, is just a terrific writer. How she managed to make that byzantine mess comprehensible and gripping is beyond me. It's inspiring. *g*

And I have to say, the whole Charitygate thing at F_W was sickening. It was ghastly to think that so many evil people could crawl out of the woodwork to slag off a dying woman. Finding out it was the energetic malice of one sockpuppeting freak, rather than a blizzard of ugliness from a crowd, is somehow reasurring.

I never dreamed they'd figure out who was saying what in that mess. Damn, this is so deeply satisfying on so many levels.

It's the most fascinating thing I've read in... can't even remember. Better than fic. More gripping than the jetiswatcher wank which I had the pleasure to follow as it unfolded (wanna-be BNF creates their own stalker). Heh, me too with the sick fascination *displays f_w badge unashamedly*

I can't believe how many hours I've spent reading this. And it's still going strong! There's a new twist conspiracy theory twist here.

I'll write more later. I'm at my dad's computer and this keyboard is weird to write with.

Oh, how yummy. :D It'll be a while before I've had my fill of this.

I keep thinking that I should be bored of it by now, but new revelations and conspiracy theories keep popping up. It's like back when I discovered the internet... information... must... read... all - until you realize there's never enough time.

Looks like some of the BNFs' behaviour is coming round and biting them in the behind. I heard a lot about heidi8 before, and her penchant for playing the lawyer card and calling libel when someone posted something she didn't agree with. Not something that endears one to the crowds.

(That saying comes to mind: You meet the same people on the way down that you met on the way up.)

You got theories on who the author behind charlottelennox is? My first impression was angua9. The whole thing just sounds like it's written from her point of view. Though someone raised the interesting question of what happened to angua's partner-in-crime, who's barely mentioned. In any case, with so many internetz lawyers running wild, I can understand the desire to remain cloaked.

Oh, meant to say: I got a GJ account way back when Six Apart came on the scene and we all thought LJ was going straight down the tubes. But I haven't touched in in forever and can't even quite remember what it's called. *sigh* I suppose I'd better find out if it's still active.

What a bore. Why can't they leave stuff alone?

Buffy fandom is my first and only fandom, and I have meet over the internet, interesting and intelligent people. But also a small loud minority, whom seem to try full fill every negative stereo type of a fan, but then again thankfully an minority.

Compared to HP fandom, Buffy fandom looks like an oasis of harmony...
