Today I heard that my favourite climbing wall will close down within the next year or two. That’s a real bummer… it’s the only place that offers toproping and lead climbing within biking distance. Why is the wall closing? Not enough business?

not sure. business seems good, at least the place is crowded much of the time. but i suppose it costs a lot to keep it running. owner just said she wants to do new projects, after 15 years. shes not a climber herself, either.

The skate park Zachary used to frequent closed soon after he stopped going but I suspect part of that was astronomical insurance costs.
