Today's xkcd is awesome: Up Goer Five. A blueprint of a rocket ship, explained using only the thousand most common words in the English language. ('Computer' is one of them while 'thousand' isn't. Huh.)
I read about it at some other site and immediately some (male) commenters suggested to downgrade the problem (because if a woman could do it, it can't be that hard) or that it wasn't really an accomplishment because she put a lot of time and work into it and anyone who worked that hard could do it. On the plus side, most of the other (male) commenters disagreed loudly and called these other guys on their trollish behavior.

Every. Single. Time. *headdesk* There were some commenters along that line after Ashima Shiraishi climbed her first V13, sometime last year or so. It's quite pathetic. Guys like that must have some serious self esteem issues.

Hard to imagine that degree of persistence. I would've just given up eventually.
