Procrastinators R Us (I mean, Help??)

May 01, 2011 18:54

Urgh. Three weeks ago our Japanese teacher sent us all an email, saying that with all the free time during the easter holidays it's a great idea for us to do some homework. (Usually our 'homework' consists of writing two sentences, if that.) The task: watch a Japanese movie, write about the plot and what we think about it. Basically write some ( Read more... )

This is probably too late to be of much use to you, but: while I don't think any of my posts on Tutu are really coherent enough to be helpful (it's mostly just flailing about going "SERIES OF MY HEART", which is not so great for a paper!) there might be some useful stuff on the Tutu LJ community.

Cool, thanks.

Ahah, I wish. Still nothing written, I spent all evening procrastinating a little more. But I finally got the idea how to tackle this - mainly by stating that the plot is so tightly plotted and komplex that it's impossible to summarize in a few lines. ;) Because it totally is. Impossible. I read the plot summary at wikipedia and it only made sense to me because I already know what's going on. They make it sound completely convoluted.

I'll keep it general and talk about the themes rather than the plot, I think.

"So then the magical girl who's really a duck gives back the power of love to the high school student who's really a prince, except it's been tainted by the witch magic of the ballerina who's really a raven, which makes the high school student who's not really a knight but thinks he is convinced that he's going to die, so they all go to an underground lake and have a dance battle!"

lol. Sounds about right.
[eta: and that was just season one...]

I actually finished the thing on time. And then I went to the sauna to reward myself and mixed up the time somehow and came to class half an hour late. *facepalm* But it's a pretty laid-back class so I didn't really matter.

I had to leave out about 95% of interesting stuff but hopefully what remained at least makes sense.

I am not sure I can offer you any great depth in terms of Tutu posts either. The community is probably the best place to start, as bookelfe recommended. But here's a link to my PT tag, http://elle-white.livejournal.com/tag/anime%3A%20princess%20tutu
